“Black Ore for Small Firms puts powerful automation directly into the hands of smaller firms, seamlessly integrated into the software they already use. By making cutting-edge AI technology accessible, it levels the playing field, empowering smaller firms to compete with larger firms without the traditional disadvantages of scale and resources,” said Eyal Shinar, co-founder and CEO of Black Ore, in a statement.

Black Ore’s Tax Autopilot, in general, can execute the full lifecycle of a complex tax return autonomously with no need for human intervention from Black Ore experts. To do so, it can accept a variety of document types, including W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, brokerage statements and bank records in any format. It can then classify those documents and extract their data automatically, even resolving discrepancies between them. Using this data, it then applies federal and state tax code logic to prepare a complete return and produce detailed supporting workpapers for professional review and final signoff.

To this, Black Ore for Small Firms adds three additional things designed for small and mid-sized practices. First, e-filing integration into Intuit ProConnect Tax and Lacerte, so completed returns go straight into the software firms already use. Second, intake automation at no additional charge, so a firm’s clients can upload documents directly into Black Ore. And third, simplified per-return pricing and account management designed for smaller firms: pricing starts at $60 per return, with no enterprise contract commitments and no five-figure minimum, which Eyal Shinar, CEO of Black Ore, said was more suitable for smaller practices without large budgets.

“Small firms need to collect documents from clients as well as prepare returns. Intake automation is now included in Black Ore for Small Firms at no charge, so the platform covers the work from document collection through return preparation. Pricing and support were also built for firms that don’t have enterprise budgets or dedicated implementation teams,” he said in a later email, adding that each firm is assigned a named Black Ore specialist rather than a help center queue.

Releasing a product specifically for smaller and mid-size firms reflects the major growth the company has had in this area: since the start of 2026, Black Ore’s small and mid-sized firm customer base has grown more than fivefold.
