Landbay announces BDM hire covering North England and Scotland

Buy-to-let (BTL) lender, Landbay, announced the appointment of a business development manager (BDM) covering North Yorkshire, the North East and Scotland.

Daniel Bell joined with immediate effect and will report to Rob Stanton, sales and distribution director at Landbay.

Bell will work with brokers and advisory firms across the regions, and providing sales support and insight across the lender’s full range of BTL products, including its premier, core, specialist and product transfer ranges.

He joins Landbay from Newsource Commercial Finance in Harrogate, where he worked for more than 13 years, most recently as its head of broker relations. During his time at Newsource, Daniel built its broker network from a standing start to more than 100 brokers.

Prior to becoming head of broker relations, Daniel spent almost five years as a case and account manager at Newsource, managing cases across a wide range of property finance sectors including BTL, houses in multiple occupation (HMO), multi-unit freehold block (MUFB), refurbishment, development, semi-commercial and commercial.

Commenting on Bell’s appointment, Stanton said his experience working on a variety of cases meant he understood how to appropriately support mortgage advisers.

“His progression from case management into leading broker relations means he understands both the detail involved in getting cases through and the support advisers need,” said Stanton.

“We want our BDMs to spend time understanding brokers, their businesses and the cases they are working on, backed by a wider team that can provide support throughout the application process, and Daniel’s experience makes him a very strong fit for this approach,” said Stanton about Landbay’s business objectives and its fitting appointment.

Landbay said Bell’s experience working directly with brokers, combined with his detailed knowledge of specialist property finance and case management, would support its continued focus on providing brokers with knowledgeable and practical support across northern regions.

Bell (pictured) further added: “Having worked both on individual cases and in broker relations, I know how important it is for advisers to have a BDM who understands their business, is available when they need support and can help them find the right solution for their landlord clients.”
