Airtel Voice-Only Recharge Plans: Rs 185, Rs 203 and Rs 206

Airtel’s new prepaid recharge plans provide unlimited local, STD and roaming voice calls, along with 300 SMS for the entire validity period. Unlike conventional prepaid plans, these vouchers do not include bundled mobile data.

Here are the key details of the three Airtel voice-only recharge plans.

Airtel Rs 185 Recharge Plan

The Rs 185 prepaid plan comes with a validity of 28 days. It offers unlimited local, STD and roaming calls, along with 300 SMS during the validity period.

The plan does not include mobile data benefits. It also offers free HelloTunes, allowing subscribers to set a caller tune, with the benefit renewable every 30 days as per the reported plan details.

Airtel Rs 203 Recharge Plan

The Rs 203 plan offers a validity of 30 days, which is two days longer than the Rs 185 recharge plan.

Subscribers receive unlimited local, STD and roaming calls, along with 300 SMS for the entire validity period. The plan does not include bundled mobile data and also offers free HelloTunes.

The Rs 203 recharge costs Rs 18 more than the Rs 185 plan, providing two additional days of validity.

Airtel Rs 206 Recharge Plan

The Rs 206 prepaid recharge plan comes with validity for one calendar month rather than a fixed number of days.

It offers unlimited local, STD and roaming calls, 300 SMS and free HelloTunes, without bundled mobile data.

The calendar-month validity is significant because TRAI’s revised rules require operators to provide at least one voice-and-SMS-only voucher that renews on the same date each month. If that date does not exist in a particular month, the renewal date moves to the month’s final day.

Airtel Voice-Only Plans: Price and Benefits Compared

The three plans differ mainly in their prices and validity periods, while their reported calling, SMS and additional benefits remain similar.
Rs 185 plan: 28-day validity, unlimited calls, 300 SMS and no bundled data.

Rs 203 plan: 30-day validity, unlimited calls, 300 SMS and no bundled data.

Rs 206 plan: One-calendar-month validity, unlimited calls, 300 SMS and no bundled data.

TRAI New Rules for Voice-Only Recharge Plans From October 21

The launch comes ahead of the implementation of TRAI’s revised Telecom Consumer Protection Regulations, 2026. The amended framework is scheduled to take effect on October 21, 2026.

The rules are intended to expand consumer choice by requiring telecom operators to provide voice-and-SMS-only vouchers for shorter validity periods, including plans that correspond to the validity periods of their data-bundled offerings.

Under the revised framework, operators must provide voice-and-SMS-only vouchers with validity of 30 days or less, where corresponding data-bundled plans are available. The regulations also require at least one voucher that renews on the same calendar date every month and at least one voice-and-SMS-only voucher with validity exceeding 30 days.

TRAI has also called for an appropriate reduction in tariff for voice-and-SMS-only vouchers compared with plans that include data benefits.
