T. Rowe Price Beefs Up its Advisor Distribution Efforts
T. Rowe Price, the global investment management firm managing $1.86 trillion in client assets, is bolstering its distribution team focused on the wealth channel.
The firm is expanding its field sales coverage, growing its wealth leadership and product specialist teams, and enhancing resources for advisors.
The firm also said it plans to support advisors by offering access to its tax-optimized drawdown strategies; customizable resources, including portfolio construction solutions and custom model portfolios; a full range of investment products, including alternative investments, separately managed accounts and ETFs.
“We know that advisors’ client needs are becoming increasingly complex and more personalized, and we want to enhance how we can support them and deepen our engagement. Over the years, we’ve been meaningfully extending the availability of quality products and services to meet these needs – including our active ETF, alternative, and custom model portfolio offerings, as well as practice management resources that help advisors navigate a range of challenges, such as tax dynamics or estate planning,” said Kevin Collins, head of T. Rowe Price U.S. Intermediaries. “We therefore thought this was a natural time for us to go deeper with our clients through this growth.”
The firm said it is in the process that began several months ago of adding more than 50 new client-facing roles in broker/dealer and RIA field sales, as well as to the alternatives, ETF and model portfolio specialist teams. It hopes to have the roles filled by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The new roles serve as an expansion of an established business and team.
It has also added two new executives over the summer. Kevin Johnson joined the firm as head of wealth research, and Ryan Bauer joined as head of RIA enterprise national accounts. They are reporting to Annie Brown, co-head of wealth management within U.S. intermediaries.
Johnson leads the firm’s wealth research strategy, working with manager research teams and model teams. He joins T. Rowe Price with more than 30 years of industry experience, having most recently served as head of platform distribution at Allspring Global Investments.
Bauer is responsible for T. Rowe Price’s strategy development and execution across its largest and most complex RIA relationships, including enterprise RIAs. Bauer joins the firm with more than 15 years of industry experience, most recently serving for 12 years in the asset management business of Deutsche Bank and DWS Group. His background covers a range of industry distribution channels, including RIA enterprise, outsourced chief investment officer, independent broker/dealers and banks.
