Nivo launches AI-powered case management tool for lenders

Nivo has launched an artificial intelligence (AI) assistant designed to help intermediated lenders manage cases from initial broker enquiry through to completion.

The new service, called Lender Collect, is aimed at UK bridging, specialist property, commercial and asset finance lenders. It builds on the technology behind Nivo Collect, which is already used by more than 15 brokers.

Lenders can set up the system by providing product guides, lending criteria, procedures, application forms and underwriting templates. Cases can then be initiated through a single email from a broker.

The AI analyses broker instructions and supporting documents, identifying key details such as loan amount, purpose, term, security and exit strategy. It checks these against the lender’s criteria, highlights any missing information and can suggest alternative products where appropriate.

Before a case reaches underwriting, the system reviews submitted evidence against lender requirements and produces a draft report using the lender’s preferred template. Nivo said underwriters retain responsibility for all lending decisions, approvals and waivers.

Following a lending decision, Lender Collect can convert conditions into tasks, tracking outstanding documentation and signatures through to completion.

The platform also monitors interactions between brokers, applicants, guarantors, solicitors and valuers, providing visibility over outstanding actions and case progress.

Michael Common, chief executive of Nivo, said lenders often compete on speed and ease of doing business with brokers.

He said: “Every intermediated lender runs the same process: a query comes in, evidence is gathered, an underwriter decides, and the conditions are worked through to completion.

“The lenders that win are the ones that are fastest and easiest for brokers to deal with. Lender Collect answers in minutes rather than days, at any hour, using the lender’s own criteria and documents.”

Common added that the technology is intended to support, rather than replace, underwriters.

He said: “Underwriters open a draft report built from checked evidence, with the decision firmly theirs. Nothing is approved, waived or decided by the AI.”

Nivo said the platform enables cases to progress outside office hours, while giving underwriters more time to focus on complex lending decisions and broker relationships.
