Regional wins for Affin Bank, Maybank, Itaú Private Bank
Other headline results included Affin Bank taking Outstanding Private Bank – Asia Pacific, Maybank Private winning Outstanding Private Bank – Southeast Asia, and Itaú Private Bank earning Outstanding Private Bank – Latin America.
A recurring theme across the winning entries was a shift from broad claims of digitalisation and innovation to evidence of how investment is changing client outcomes and improving commercial performance.
Taishin International Bank, winner of Most Innovative Digital Offering, demonstrated this with a recommendation engine combining personalisation with product economics.
“What stood out this year was the level of evidence behind the strongest entries,” said Sarah Rizvi, editorial and programme director – Banking & Finance at MEED. “We saw institutions move beyond broad claims around innovation to show where technology, advice and new operating models were producing measurable results for clients and the business.”
Technology remained a significant part of this year’s awards, spanning artificial intelligence, data and analytics, digital onboarding and digital private banking. However, the results also underlined the continued importance of the core client relationship, with winning propositions covering succession, entrepreneurship, family wealth, client experience, and services for high- and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
Judges focused on evidence that strategies delivered results, whether through business growth, stronger client engagement, improved service or more effective use of technology.
The 2026 winners were recognised at the annual awards reception in Singapore on 8 October.
