Stocks to Watch Today, Oct 7: Titan, HCLTech, Godrej Consumer, JSW Cement, Asian Paints in Focus on RBI Policy Day

Equity benchmarks are likely to start Wednesday’s session on a cautious note, with GIFT Nifty trading at 22,674 at 8:46 AM, down 125 points or 0.55%. The decision of the RBI’s Monetary Policy Committee at 10 AM is the main event of the day, and the market is looking forward for a rate hike.
The stock market made its recovery on Tuesday, ending higher for a second straight session. The Sensex rose 685.34 points, or 0.95%, to close at 73,067.81, while the Nifty 50 gained 220.35 points, or 0.98%, to settle at 22,776.10. Buying was seen in pharma, FMCG, media and consumer durables, while the Nifty IT and Nifty Cement indices declined.

RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra will announce the repo rate decision at 10 AM. The repo rate currently stands at 5.25%, unchanged through the last four reviews. Economists are expecting a 25 basis point hike, which would be the first increase since February 2023 and a reversal after four rate cuts totalling 125 basis points in 2025.
Wall Street ended higher on Tuesday, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite both closing at record highs. The S&P 500 rose 0.58% to 7,818.93, its first close above 7,800. The Nasdaq added 0.45% to 27,599.79 and the Dow gained 0.49% to 51,521.28. Meanwhile, the Asian markets are trading mixed this morning as Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading flat and South Korea’s Kospi opened lower.

Titan Company
Shares of Titan will be in focus as the company reported a 22% YoY rise in its domestic business in Q2FY27. Jewellery grew 21% YoY, while the watches and EyeCare businesses rose 30% and 28% YoY, respectively.
Ola Electric Mobility
Ola Electric shares is also expected to see some movement as it has received in-principle approval from the stock exchanges for its proposed rights issue of up to Rs. 1,000 crore.
Blue Dart Express
Blue Dart is in focus for three developments. Blue Dart Aviation has received a GST show cause notice of Rs. 27.1 crore for FY23-FY24. The company has announced a 9-12% price hike for domestic services. It has also signed an MoU with the National Capital Region Transport Corporation to explore parcel movement through the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor.
Mphasis
Mphasis shares will be in focus after it announced it won a 35.4 million euros contract from Social Security Scotland.
Godrej Consumer Products
Godrej Consumer Products inaugurated the first phase of its new manufacturing facility in Indonesia’s Kendal Special Economic Zone on Tuesday. The facility is part of an IDR 500 billion investment, about Rs. 250 crore in the country.
HCLTech
HCL Group has announced a Rs. 500 crore investment to expand HCL IT City in Lucknow. Separately, HCLTech has announced an AI upskilling initiative for 1,000 students.
Asian Paints
Asian Paints will consider and declare an interim dividend for FY27, if any, at its board meeting on October 29, according to a regulatory filing.
JSW Cement
JSW Cement has commissioned an additional 1.00 MTPA cement grinding unit at Nagaur, Rajasthan. This takes its total cement grinding capacity to 25.10 MTPA. Total clinker capacity, including that of its joint venture JSW Cement FZC, stands at 9.74 MTPA.
Apollo Tyres
Apollo Tyres CFO Gaurav Kumar has resigned with effect from October 6, citing personal and professional challenges outside the organisation.
Kanohar Electricals
Kanohar Electricals posted a 140% jump in net profit, but its shares slipped 7.62% amid valuation concerns.
