China and Japan see declines in US Treasuries while UK holdings approach $1trn
European entities held more US Treasury securities than their Asian counterparts for the first time since at least 2012 in July, based on data reported to the Treasury International Capital system.
European market participants held $3.66 trillion in USTs at the end of July, compared with $3.63 trillion at Asian participants.
The realignment was mostly driven by Asian holdings declining by $41.7
