OMS and Step One Finance build on partnership with loan origination system

One Mortgage System (OMS) and second charge lender Step One Finance have deepened their partnership with the integration of a bespoke loan origination system.

The two companies have already integrated an API process, the first step of an ongoing partnership.

The origination platform has been designed to suit the needs of the lender, its intermediary partners and the end customer.

Step One Finance has fully adopted OMS originations to support and streamline the mortgage application process, providing a more efficient and transparent experience while maintaining compliance and service standards.

OMS Originations was launched in April 2024 and streamlines the whole end-to-end origination journey for intermediaries and direct customers, with a customisable dashboard that allows lenders to create efficient workflows.

The platform also supports instant decision, product engine, bespoke underwriting processing and second- and third-line audit functionality.

The platform supports various types of lending including semi-commercial, self-build, retirement interest-only (RIO), buy-to-let (BTL), expat, and limited company borrowing.

Neal Jannels, managing director of OMS, said: “This integration is another example of how OMS continues to support specialist lenders with flexible, reliable technology that makes a tangible difference to their day-to-day operations.

“Step One Finance has a clear focus on improving the customer journey through smart investment in digital infrastructure, and we’re proud to play a key role in supporting this delivery.”

Agnieszka Jouille, director of operations and strategy at Step One Finance, added: “Our investment in technology is focused on creating a simpler, more efficient customer journey while strengthening the controls that support responsible lending. Our partnership with OMS is an important part of delivering that ambition.”

Neil Molyneux, director of sales at Step One Finance, said: “For our brokers and partners, that means less administration, greater visibility and faster progress, complemented by the personal support and expertise that remain core to how we work at Step One.”
