Suffolk estate agent completes eighth acquisition
A Your Move franchise operator in Suffolk has acquired a lettings agency with 125 managed properties, marking the eighth acquisition completed by the business in 18 months.
Oliver Hurren, who runs four Your Move branches across Suffolk, has purchased Your Property Solutions from owners John and Shirley-Ann Carter, who are retiring from the lettings sector. The property portfolio will transfer to Hurren’s Your Move Beccles branch.
Franchise expansion strategy
The acquisition continues a period of sustained growth for Hurren’s franchise operation. LSL Estate Agency Franchising facilitated the transaction through its Assisted Acquisitions Programme, which provides franchise partners with support on valuations, due diligence and onboarding, as well as financing options.
The expansion comes as the lettings market faces ongoing regulatory changes, with two-thirds of landlords planning rent increases post-reform. The consolidation trend in the estate agency sector has accelerated as independent operators face increasing compliance costs and competitive pressures.
Hurren stated that his team would continue to service the acquired landlord portfolio. Kate Ashley-Ives, franchise director at LSL Estate Agency Franchising, confirmed the company would support further acquisitions as Hurren continues regional expansion.
Market context
The transaction reflects broader consolidation within the property services sector, as larger operators acquire smaller independent agencies. The Carters will continue operating their financial services business following their exit from lettings.
The acquisition strategy employed by Hurren’s franchise demonstrates how supported acquisition programmes enable franchise operators to expand market share through systematic purchases of established portfolios, rather than organic growth alone.
