LSEG Appointed as Super Validator on Canton Network
LSEG has been appointed as a Super Validator on the Canton Network, according to the company. The appointment expands its existing role as a validator through the cash application of LSEG’s Digital Settlement House (DiSH) on Canton’s blockchain network, which LSEG describes as privacy-enabled and purpose-built for institutional finance.
The appointment follows the technical launch of DiSH earlier this year. LSEG says DiSH has already enabled participants on Canton to settle intraday repos in DiSH cash as part of proofs of concept; the company presents this as an alternative to non-cash tokens such as stablecoins.
As a Super Validator, LSEG will help strengthen Canton’s infrastructure, support network governance and collaborate with ecosystem participants, the company says. LSEG also intends to bring other services into the Canton Network.

According to LSEG, DiSH is a settlement platform that, acting as a trusted third party, will orchestrate settlement between independent payment networks and facilitate interoperability between settlement assets; it will be a mechanism for the 24/7 movement of cash through commercial bank accounts (DiSH Cash).
