Meg Ryan Sells Bridgehampton Home to Broadway Producer
Henry Tisch should’ve uttered “I’ll have what she’s having” after buying a Bridgehampton home off of actress Meg Ryan.
The Broadway producer and son of Jonathan Tisch (of Loews and New York Giants fame) purchased Ryan’s property at 53 Matthews Lane in the Hamptons hamlet for $15.25 million, the Wall Street Journal reported. Henry paid the home’s full asking price, which Ryan put on the market in the spring, adding up to $3,050 per square foot.
He’ll get to shack up close to his father, who owns an estate half a mile away. He couldn’t be reached for comment, while Ryan did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Ryan bought the property two years ago for $13.5 million. The 5,000-square-foot home is situated on an acre and contains four bedrooms, five fireplaces and a covered porch with an outdoor fireplace. The primary suite has a sitting area and a steam shower.
Other features of the home include a five-zone heating and cooling geothermal system, a heated Gunite pool and a high-tech security system. There’s also a secondary living area with its own bedroom, kitchenette and gym.
Compass’ Evan Kulman represented Ryan, while Douglas Elliman’s Paul Brennan and Martha Gundersen represented Tisch.
Ryan’s shown plenty of interest in real estate over the years. In 2014, she bought a loft in Soho from fellow actor Hank Azaria for $8 million, selling it three years later for $10 million. She also bought an apartment at Tribeca’s 443 Greenwich Street in 2017 for $9.4 million.
On the other side of the country, Ryan sold an estate in Montecito last year for $16.8 million, four years after purchasing it for $9.5 million. The actress needed to reduce the asking price multiple times before moving the Montecito home.
Back in Bridgehampton, the median home price from June to August was $2.7 million, up more than 31 percent year over year, according to Redfin.
For the 12-month period ending at the start of June, Bridgehampton was home to two of the five most expensive closed home sales in Suffolk County.
