Blueberry Wins UAE Licence | LeapRate

Blueberry has been granted a licence by the UAE’s Capital Market Authority, allowing its new Dubai entity to promote the group’s products and introduce clients in the UAE. The approval was announced on Wednesday alongside the formal opening of Blueberry’s Dubai office, which the group is positioning as a hub for the wider Gulf and North Africa region, including Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

The licence covers marketing, client consultation and introductions only. It does not let the Dubai entity take on trading clients directly, hold their accounts, or execute trades. That business stays with Blueberry Markets (Mauritius) Ltd, regulated separately by Mauritius’s Financial Services Commission.

For anyone dealing with Blueberry in the UAE, the practical point is knowing which entity they are actually contracting with. The Dubai business can market and refer, but the trading relationship and any client money protections sit with the Mauritius entity under its own rules. The UAE approval is also local to the UAE: it does not cover Saudi Arabia or Egypt, so any expansion into those markets would need separate approval from their own regulators.

Giscard Abi El Hessen, Head of Category at Blueberry Financial Consultation, said the move reflects a longer-term plan for the region.

Securing the CMA Category 5 license and establishing our presence in Dubai represents an important step in our long-term vision for the MENA region.
