Fanatics Names Afterpay to Preferred BNPL List; Landmark Global’s Shopify App Debuts – Digital Transactions

With the e-commerce arena weeks away from one of its busiest times of the year, retailers and vendors are readying their checkouts. Sports apparel merchant Fanatics Inc. says Afterpay is its preferred buy now, pay later provider and Landmark Global, which helps merchants with cross-border e-commerce transactions, says its new app on the Shopify App Store will help merchants sell internationally.

Afterpay, which Block Inc. acquired in 2022, says its preferred status with Fanatics will give it prominence for consumers choosing to spread out the payments for their purchases. Fanatics will offer its Pay in 4 and Pay Monthly products on Fanatics.com, Lids.com, NBAStore.com, NHLShop.com, and associated sites.

The move follows Fanatics activating Afterpay acceptance earlier this year at its Fanatics Fest, a sports-culture festival. According to TechnologyChecker.io, a service that scans Web sites for technology, 79,610 e-commerce stores use Afterpay matched to 34,053 company records.

In related news, Shopify Inc. merchants wanting help to make their cross-border e-commerce transactions easier can use Landmark Global’s new app.

The app enables merchants to set up international sales with a guided onboarding experience and no complex technology integration. They can configure international shipping preferences, calculate costs in real time, offer multiple shipping options, generate shipping labels, and manage fulfillment directly within Shopify.

According to Uptek, a Shopify and Shopify Plus development agency, there are more than 11,900 apps in the Shopify App Store.
