Eric Leupold to succeed Robbert Booij as chief executive of Eurex | LeapRate
Eurex Frankfurt revealed Tuesday that it has appointed Eric Leupold as its new chief executive, effective 1 January 2027, succeeding Robbert Booij.
The leadership change follows Booij’s decision not to seek an extension of his executive board mandate.
His tenure at Eurex was “marked by record performance, substantial growth and disciplined cost management,” said Eurex, which credited his leadership as pivotal in integrating Eurex Exchange and Eurex Clearing into a unified organisation.
Leupold currently serves as managing director of the cash market and chief of staff of the trading and clearing division. He began his career at Deutsche Börse Group in 2009 and has held various senior leadership roles, including positions in DB1 Ventures, cash market, and trading and clearing strategy.
“I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Robbert Booij for his outstanding leadership and dedication to Eurex,” commented Thomas Book, executive board member of Deutsche Börse Group. “He has been instrumental in driving our growth and strengthening our position as a leading global derivatives exchange.”
Book said he was excited to welcome Leupold to the role, adding that his deep understanding of the business and extensive experience across Deutsche Börse Group made him “the ideal successor to lead Eurex into its next chapter of innovation and growth.”
