FIS Reports Record First-Half Wins in Community and Regional Banking | LeapRate
This week, FIS (NYSE: FIS) announced record first-half core wins across its community and regional banking business, with the company saying the results represent millions of accounts added.
The financial technology provider said the wins reflect growing demand from banks looking to modernize their operations through a more connected technology approach rather than relying on standalone tools.
According to FIS, the wins covered account origination, digital banking and core modernization, and included both new client relationships and expansions within its existing customer base.
The company noted that community and regional banks are contending with rising fraud risks, faster-moving payments activity and mounting technology complexity, all while facing pressure to deliver modern digital experiences.
Among the disclosed wins is Open Bank, a Los Angeles-based community bank trading as OP Bancorp (Nasdaq: OPBK), which selected FIS Origination Suite to support its digital transformation efforts.
Melissa Cullen, President of the Community and Regional Bank Office at FIS, said institutions are balancing growth goals with fraud prevention and efficiency needs, and are seeking partners that can address these priorities together rather than separately.
FIS also highlighted ongoing investment in artificial intelligence, including Policy Optimizer 2.0 for credit policy evaluation, the Financial Crimes AI Agent developed with Anthropic, and its AgentEdge framework for deploying automation across banking workflows. Several of these tools are already in production, while others remain in pilot stages with core banking clients.
FIS serves thousands of community and regional banking clients and expects continued demand for integrated modernization strategies going forward.
