Gold rates in India held their ground on Sunday, September 13, after a modest recovery in the previous session, signalling some stability after the recent slide in bullion rates. 24 Karat (24K) gold stood at Rs 15,458 per gram, while 22 Karat (22K) and 18 Karat (18K) gold were priced at Rs 14,170 and Rs 11,594 per gram, respectively.
Silver also remained unchanged for a second straight day at Rs 245 per gram, or Rs 2,45,000 per kilogram, as the precious-metals market found some footing ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi 2026. Globally, gold rebounded from recent losses despite firmer-than-expected US inflation data, with investors weighing stronger rate-hike expectations against renewed buying at lower level.

“Gold and silver retreated as stronger-than-expected US PPI data boosted expectations of a Federal Reserve rate hike, with markets now awaiting today’s CPI report for further clarity. The ECB added to the hawkish tone by raising rates as expected and flagging persistent upside inflation risks,” said Prithviraj Kothari, Managing Director at RiddiSiddhi Bullions Ltd., President of India Bullion and Jewellers Association Ltd.
