Chris Burch Lists Hamptons Home Five Years After Buy

The billionaire co-founder of Tory Burch is selling his Water Mill estate, five years after buying the Hamptons home.

Chris Burch, a venture capitalist and chief executive officer of Burch Creative Capital, listed his property at 258 Horsemill Lane for $39.5 million, the New York Post reported. Should he fetch that price, it would work out to nearly $3,300 per square foot.

Burch, the ex-husband of Tory Burch, bought the property back in 2021 for $29 million. Since then, he’s renovated the shingle-style home to make it more contemporary.

Features of the seven-acre property, dubbed Listowel, include a 12,000-square-foot main home with seven bedrooms, a two-story library, a pool overlooking the water, a private dock and a carriage house.

There’s also 360 feet of water frontage on Mecox Bay and approvals in place for the addition of a three-bedroom guesthouse.

The Corcoran Group’s Tim Davis has the listing.

Before buying the pad, Burch sold his 7,000-square-foot Southampton to the Cox media family for $15.5 million, about $500,000 above the asking price and nearly double what he paid for it in 2013. The Water Mill home was listed for $29.5 million when Burch bought it, but had previously been listed for $39.5 million earlier.

Three years ago, Burch listed his waterfront North Bay Road mansion in Miami Beach for $49 million. Burch bought the Miami Beach home from Heinz Brasil executive Salvador Paoletti Neto for $14.2 million in 2020. It doesn’t appear to have been sold and is not on the market today.

After a short marriage to real estate mogul Billy Macklowe in 1993, Tory Burch married Christopher Burch in 1996. The couple launched her brand in 2004 before splitting three years later. He sold most of his stake in the brand in 2012 for $650 million, according to Forbes.

Christopher started the apparel company Eagle’s Eye with his brother, Robert Burch, while he was in college, and has invested in brands such as Solid & Striped, Staud and BaubleBar.
