HSBC Group CFO Pam Kaur to Step Down in 2027 | LeapRate

HSBC Holdings plc has announced that Group Chief Financial Officer Pam Kaur plans to leave her role in 2027 and will not stand for re-election as a director at the bank’s 2027 Annual General Meeting.

Her exact retirement date will be confirmed later but will be no later than the 2027 AGM.

Kaur has served HSBC for 13 years, holding senior positions across Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance, and Finance before becoming Group CFO. After leaving the full-time CFO and Executive Director role, she will move into an advisory position supporting Group CEO Georges Elhedery on strategic projects and helping ensure a smooth handover to her successor.

HSBC Chairman Brendan Nelson thanked Kaur for her contribution, citing her judgement and integrity throughout her tenure. Elhedery said her financial discipline and experience had been invaluable and welcomed her continued involvement as an adviser.

Kaur said it had been a privilege to serve on HSBC’s leadership team since 2013, adding that with the bank in a strong financial and strategic position, 2027 felt like the right time to pursue new opportunities.

The Board has begun a search for Kaur’s successor, considering both internal and external candidates.

Under the terms of her departure, Kaur will retain Good Leaver status for deferred and long-term incentive awards, subject to standard conditions including non-compete restrictions. She remains eligible for performance-based bonuses for 2026 and a pro-rated 2027 award.
