Best securities house in the Greater Bay Area 2026: CICC

CICC’s performance in 2025 was anchored in equity capital markets, where it connected companies from the Greater Bay Area with international investors. It sponsored 41 Hong Kong IPOs with an aggregate lead underwriting amount of $7.9 billion, ranking first in the market. These included CATL’s $5.25 billion listing and the $1.35 billion IPO of Foshan Haitian Flavouring and Food Co, for which CICC acted as lead sponsor and helped secure cornerstone orders covering more than 80% of the offering.

The bank’s reach extended across debt and advisory. CICC supported offshore RMB bond issuances by the governments of Guangdong and Shenzhen, as well as green and infrastructure bonds from the Hong Kong government. It also helped Guangzhou Water Investment Group Co complete China’s first green technology asset-backed notes in the public utilities sector. In mergers and acquisitions, the firm worked on transactions linking businesses and capital across Guangdong, Hong Kong and international markets, including China Mobile’s acquisition of Hong Kong Broadband Network.

CICC’s ability to execute equity, debt and advisory mandates across mainland China and Hong Kong made it a central intermediary for GBA issuers seeking domestic and international capital

CICC combined these investment banking capabilities with a substantial regional platform. At the end of 2025, CICC had 209 securities business offices nationwide, including 41 in Guangdong. Across China, CICC announced 64 M&A transactions worth about $82.1 billion, including 11 cross-border or offshore deals totalling $9.1 billion. Its ability to execute equity, debt and advisory mandates across mainland China and Hong Kong made it a central intermediary for GBA issuers seeking domestic and international capital.
