Buckinghamshire BS launches trio of three-year mortgage products
Buckinghamshire Building Society has launched a trio of three-year discounted mortgage products across its retirement and credit restore ranges, as it encourages brokers to look beyond the traditional two- and five-year options when sourcing for clients.
The products include a retirement three-year discount mortgage up to 75% loan to value (LTV) at 5.09% with a £999 fee.
It further launched two credit restore three-year discount deals up to 60% and 75% LTV at 5.49% and 5.89% respectively, both with a £499 fee.
The mutual said the additions provide brokers with greater choice across two of its key lending areas.
Buckinghamshire Building Society said that while two- and five-year products often form the starting point for mortgage searches, considering three-year alternatives can uncover additional options that may be better suited to a client’s circumstances and future plans.
Claire Askham (pictured), head of mortgage sales at Buckinghamshire Building Society, said: “Two- and five-year products naturally receive a lot of attention when brokers are sourcing a mortgage, but we don’t want three-year options to be overlooked.

“Every client is different, and for some borrowers, three years may provide a useful middle ground.”
Askham said the lender’s message to brokers was simple: “When you’re sourcing a case, make sure you include three-year products in your search.
“There could be an option sitting there that works particularly well for your client, and you don’t want to miss it simply because the initial search was limited to two and five years.”
