Eye on Ticketing: Six Flags Picks Flex Pay’s BNPL; Visa Canada Renews Film Festival Deal – Digital Transactions

Six Flags Entertainment Corp. is adding the Flex Pay buy now, pay later payment method from Upgrade Inc. to enable guests to make installment payments for season passes and other products. In related news, Visa Canada renewed its partnership with the Toronto International Film Festival, noting that 2027 will be its 30th year supporting the event.

Arlington, Texas-based Six Flags, which operates 20 amusement parks, 14 water parks, and nine resort properties in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, plus an amusement park in Saudi Arabia, says Flex Pay’s BNPL option will be available in each U.S. state with a Six Flags park. Flex Pay is available on purchases of $49 or more. A 2027 season pass at Knott’s Berry Farm in California, for example, is regularly $215.

Six Flags said the Flex Pay option is an installment loan and subject to interest and underwriting reviews. Park visitors can use a season pass immediately on activation.

San Francisco-based Upgrade rebranded its Uplift BNPL service to Flex Pay in 2024 after acquiring Uplift in 2023.

In related news, Visa Canada says the renewal with the Toronto film festival will see Visa cardholders continuing to receive early access to tickets and additional perks at the festival, such as priority line access and lounges.

Visa Canada did not disclose the terms of the multiyear deal.
