Barclays opens Singapore hub for private banking bookings

Barclays has set up a Private Bank booking centre in Singapore, a move aimed at supporting ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients and family offices with cross-border financial needs.

According to the bank, the new centre links booking functions in Singapore with Barclays’ other international booking locations.

This gives clients access to services including banking, credit, investment offerings and wealth planning through a connected platform.

The bank said the Singapore operation fits into its “one Barclays” approach, under which the Private Bank works alongside the Corporate and Investment Banks.

This structure is intended to bring together financing, market access and wider institutional capabilities for clients with complex financial interests.

Barclays said the launch reflects a backdrop of increasingly international wealth generation, investment activity and capital movement.

The bank said Singapore remains a significant location for private wealth, drawing entrepreneurs, family offices and investors from Asia and other regions.

It added that the city’s financial system, international links and established expertise make it a relevant base for clients with interests across Asia Pacific, the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

Barclays Private Bank and Wealth Management CEO Sasha Wiggins said: “The launch of our Singapore booking centre marks an important milestone in delivering our growth strategy, it enables us to bring the full breadth of Barclays’ expertise to our clients, and reflects our investment in key international wealth markets.

“As wealth becomes increasingly global, clients are looking for partners who can support them seamlessly across generations and jurisdictions. Singapore is one of the world’s leading wealth hubs, and this investment strengthens our ability to serve internationally connected clients while reinforcing our long-term commitment to Asia Pacific.”

Last month, Barclays appointed Mike Joo and Adeel Khan as joint chief executives of its investment banking division from February 2027, pending regulatory clearance.
