Multiple areas in Bengaluru are likely to experience a power outage on Saturday, August 29, as the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) has scheduled maintenance work at the Kadugodi Power Substation.

According to BESCOM, the interruption that will be caused by the Bengaluru power cut today is required to carry out second-quarter maintenance work at the substation. The scheduled power outage in Bengaluru will affect several areas in and around Whitefield, Kadugodi and Brookefield.

The scheduled BESCOM power outage will take place on Saturday, August 29, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. People staying in the affected areas should plan their activities accordingly, particularly those dependent on electricity for work, household appliances and other essential services.

Reason Behind the BESCOM Power Outage in the City

The interruption is being carried out due to scheduled maintenance work at the Kadugodi Power Substation. Such planned electricity shutdowns are undertaken to carry out maintenance and related electrical work and help make sure the reliability of the power distribution network.
The power supply is expected to resume after the scheduled maintenance work is completed; however, power supply restoration timings will vary depending on the work at the site.
