HGTV Launches ‘Room Raiders’-Style Dating Show With Tyler Cameron
HGTV is putting a real estate spin on romance with a new dating series that will see singles searching for love—one home at a time.
The home network is hoping to tug at viewers’ heartstrings with its all-new series, “Let’s Go Back to Your Place,” which will be hosted by former “Bachelorette” heartthrob Tyler Cameron, 33.
In addition to taking on hosting duties, Cameron will put his matchmaking skills to the test as he helps hopeful singles search for a romantic connection based on an unlikely compatibility test: their potential partner’s home.
The series, which is set to premiere in 2027, will see Cameron guiding a single contestant through the homes of three prospective matches, allowing them to get a glimpse at each person’s design style, décor choices, and overall way of living—without revealing who actually resides there.
“In each episode, Tyler will guide one hopeful romantic on three house tours looking for design clues that reveal more about the people that live there,” a description shared by the home renovation network states.
Along the way, the contestant will receive a handful of clues about each homeowner before ultimately choosing the property they believe belongs to their perfect match.
Only then will they come face-to-face with the person behind the property, heading out on a blind date to discover whether the chemistry is as strong as their connection to the home.
The premise bears a striking resemblance to the beloved MTV dating series “Room Raiders,” which ran from 2003 to 2009 and saw contestants snooping through the bedrooms of three potential suitors before selecting one for a date.
However, “Let’s Go Back to Your Place” gives the nostalgic concept an HGTV-worthy makeover, turning an entire home—and the personality revealed through its design—into the ultimate dating profile.
Cameron’s new gig comes just two months joined forces with real estate mogul and fellow reality TV personality Ryan Serhant after landing a job at his renowned brokerage, Serhant.
Cameron—whose Florida dwelling was recently overhauled by HGTV star Galey Alix—told Realtor.com that he is “excited” to turn his “passion” for real estate into a career, adding that he can’t think of a better place to bring that dream to life than at Serhant’s company.
Luckily for “The Bachelorette” star, he won’t have to give up his home, which was designed by his fiance, Tate Madden, in pursuit of real estate success, signing a contract for a role at Serhant’s Jupiter, FL, office, which is conveniently located in his home town—where he will have his pick of some incredibly impressive luxury real estate.
“I had breakfast with Ryan as well as getting to know some of the agents down here and there is no better leader in this industry than Ryan and no one better to learn from,” Cameron said.
In addition to landing the job with Serhant, Cameron also runs Image 1 Construction, which was showcased in his series “Going Home With Tyler Cameron,” where he returned to Jupiter to renovate homes for locals, while also transforming his late mother’s abode, according to a press release.
Having already experienced how reality TV and social media can lead to global success, Cameron noted that Serhant’s masterful use of both mediums was another huge draw to his company.
The TV-star-turned-real-estate-pro noted that he will be focusing on finding his “friends” and “clients” their dream home.
“I will continue to run my construction business and investment properties, but I am excited to turn this passion of searching for the perfect properties for myself and transition it to helping my friends and clients find the homes of their dreams,” he said.
Although he started his TV career with a stint on a dating show, Cameron acknowledged that he long had a love for real estate.
Meanwhile, Serhant revealed that he is “excited” to have Cameron by his side in the real estate industry for the foreseeable future.
