Saudi CCyB hike lands as economy contracts

Saudi Arabia raised its countercyclical capital buffer (CCyB) from 0% to 1% in the second quarter, just as the economic impact of the US-Iran war intensified.

Across three Saudi Arabian banks tracked by Risk Quantum, aggregate CCyB capital requirements increased by 17 billion riyals ($4.5 billion).
