Beverley fills key role as it seeks to double lending – Mortgage Strategy

Beverley Building Society has appointed a new non-executive director to chair its compliance committee as it seeks to double mortgage lending within two years.
Jonathan Pattinson, who has 30 years’ experience in senior auditing roles, including as chief executive of Computershare Investor Services, following a period at HML before its takeover and prior to that a 12-year stint at Northern Rock.
A chartered accountant, Pattinson takes over from Oliver Laird who has completed his four-year tenure.
He will chair the audit and compliance committee as well as sitting on the risk committee.
The appointment comes as Beverley plans to increase mortgage lending over the next two years, attract more savings deposits and invest in its technology and workforce.
Beverley Building Society chair Karen Wint says: “Jonathan’s appointment is a significant addition to the board’s capabilities.
“His extensive experience across audit, compliance, risk and governance will provide valuable support and challenge as we continue to strengthen the society and deliver long-term value for our members.
“Jonathan brings a contemporary strategic understanding of the rapidly-changing financial services environment.
“We are delighted to welcome him to the board.”
