The Progressive Corp. Stock Rises 4% Despite Reporting Lower Net Profit In July
(RTTNews) – Shares of The Progressive Corporation (PGR) are rising about 4 percent in Wednesday morning trading after the insurer reported results for the month ended July 31, 2026.
The company’s shares are currently trading at $214.52 on the New York Stock Exchange, gaining 3.57 percent in the latest session. The stock opened at $207.57 and touched an intraday high of $216.94. Over the past 12 months, the shares have traded between $189.20 and $254.93.
Net income declined to $961 million from last year’s $1,090 million. Meanwhile, net premiums written for the month improved 5 percent to $7,441 million from $7,057 million in July 2025. Net premiums earned totaled $7,355 million compared to $6,986 million in the previous year.
