Mexican Restaurant Santo Taco Subleases Former West Village Dig Inn Space – Commercial Observer
Santo Taco is subleasing space formerly occupied by Dig Inn in Manhattan’s West Village, Commercial Observer has learned.
The Mexican food concept launched by Santiago Perez in 2025 will take over the 2,800-square-foot, street-level and below-grade space at the Steven Fuchs-owned 232 Bleecker Street at the corner of Bleecker and Carmine streets, according to ManagRE.
The sublease runs until 2041. ManagRE did not disclose the asking rent in the off-market deal, but the average asking rent in nearby retail corridors in the Meatpacking District was $252 per square foot in the second quarter of 2026, according to CBRE.
Navin Bhutani of ManagRE was the sole broker in the deal, and Meerkat Development is managing the buildout of the space.
Dig Inn did not immediately respond to a request for comment, while Fuchs, who owns a number of properties in the West Village, could not be reached for comment.
Santo Taco already has two locations at 114 Kenmare Street and 94 University Place with the new location opening next month.
Perez was the CEO of Mexico City-based firm Casamata Hospitality for 10 years, managing concepts like Enrique Olvera’s Pujol as well as Cosme in the Flatiron District and Damian in Los Angeles.
