Organ had served as chief financial officer. After eight years in practice, he moved into industry in 1993 to become finance director of a group of training companies.
He became part of the Clifton group in 1997, with responsibility for corporate governance and finance across the organisation.
Clifton Asset Management CEO Neil Greenaway said: “Edward joins Clifton at an important moment for the business, and his mix of audit training and commercial finance experience will strengthen how we plan and grow.
“He follows Ellis Organ, who has led our finance function for nearly three decades at Clifton AM and built the foundations we rely on today.
“We are grateful for everything Ellis has contributed over the years, and we wish him a long and happy retirement.”
Greenaway added: “Edward has already made a strong impression across the team, and I look forward to seeing what he brings to the role.”
Ellis previously held the role of director of strategy, financial planning and analysis at Kingswood Group, before its acquisition by Mattioli Woods. Earlier in his career, he worked at NatWest Group. He has more than 12 years of experience in financial services.
Ellis said: “I’m delighted to have joined Clifton at such an exciting stage in its growth.
“Having spent the last few years helping fast growing wealth management businesses scale, I’m looking forward to partnering with colleagues across the business to support sustainable growth, bring strong commercial insight and ensure we continue to create long-term value for clients and stakeholders.
“What has impressed me most so far is the quality of the people and the ambition across the organisation, which gives Clifton a strong platform for its next phase of growth.”
